Free and private

Crosstabs is free to use. There are no plans, subscriptions, sign-ups, or account tiers. This page remains at /pricing so existing links continue to work.

Free means free

  • Core analysis, local projects, and exports are free with no paid edition or feature gate.
  • No account is required to upload a file, run an analysis, save a project locally, or export a result.
  • Crosstabs does not sell subscriptions, team plans, enterprise packages, or data-processing contracts.

Private by design

  • Browser analysis and the separately installed local MCP keep project files and respondent data on your device; they do not automatically sync to Crosstabs.
  • The optional hosted MCP is different: explicitly consented uploads and project state are stored temporarily on Crosstabs servers. No sign-in is required, but private operations require the secret workspace token.
  • Hosted workspace access expires 24 hours after creation. Export work before expiry. Active-data cleanup and provider backup retention are separate.

Free hosted access has limits

  • The hosted MCP offers 46 tools for aggregate evidence, temporary project workflows, file handoff, jobs, and results. The local package has separate tool sets and capabilities.
  • Hosted survey/report files are limited to 5 MiB, .ctproj files to 8 MiB, and cumulative uploads to 10 MiB per workspace. Workspace, job, and service-wide limits also apply; see /capacity for the full envelope.
  • The public statistical JSON API remains aggregate-only. Choosing a hosted MCP upload is an explicit change of data-processing boundary, not an automatic fallback from browser analysis.
